  • Dorset For You: Veterans Support – Services available for Armed Forces Veterans and their families. As the transition back to civilian life can present real challenges for some people, we have listed the support available in Dorset for ex-service personnel (also known as veterans*), their families and carers.*Veterans are defined as anyone who has served for at least one day in HM Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve) or Merchant Navy Seafarers and Fishermen who have served in a vessel at a time when it was operated to facilitate military operations by HM Armed Forces.

  • F.A.S.T – The Stroke Association has funded research into FAST – the Face Arm Speech Test – used by paramedics to diagnose stroke prior to a person being admitted to hospital. By diagnosing the possibility of stroke before reaching hospital, it is possible for appropriate referral to a stroke unit to be made as quickly as possible

Victim Support

Victim Support: – In Dorset, there are a number of ways a victim can receive updates on their crime or receive practical or emotional support. If victims do not wish to engage with the police, they do not have to. The services available are free and open to anyone who has been a victim of crime.
