Receptionists
We have a team of receptionists who are your first point of contact:
Katie R | Michelle B | Lisa G | Jane D | Carol H | Karen C | Jane M
When telephoning for medical attention the receptionist may ask you for a few details. All reception staff are fully trained and ask for these details in order that we can help you in the most appropriate way. Our receptionists are very busy at certain times of the day and we ask that you be patient. The Receptionists ease the flow of patients for the Doctors and Nurses and keep the practice running smoothly. They are here to help you.
Sometimes they may need to ask for further details. They are not being nosey and are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the Doctors and Nurses. All medical information, which is held on your behalf, is governed by the Data Protection Act and staff are vigilant in ensuring that only essential information is made known to other practice staff.
Reception is the engine house of the surgery, with the Receptionists doing a wide range of administrative jobs, answering telephone calls and greeting patients at the counter. At times there may be slight delays so please be patient until they can attend to you.

Our Community Staff
Midwives
It can be difficult to know who to contact when you find out that you’re pregnant. If you haven’t already, the first thing to do is to refer yourself to maternity services by completing a self-referral form. You will then be contacted to arrange your booking appointment, which will happen when you’re around 8-12 weeks pregnant, or as soon as possible if you believe that your pregnancy is further along. There is no need to see your GP unless you have existing health problems.

If you have any concerns about your health or your baby’s health before your booking appointment, please arrange to see your GP. If you have any existing health problems, it’s a good idea to see your GP when you find out that you’re pregnant, so that they can review any medication you’re taking and see if you need any additional care.
Nurses
The Community Nurses provide nursing care and advice to patients in their own homes. They liaise with hospitals and other specialised nurses and services such as Home Care, Social Services, The Macmillan Unit and Chiropody.
Community Nurses can arrange extra support for patients who require long-term care.
Health Visitors
The Health Visiting Team can be contacted on the following telephone number:
01305 363 043
You are welcome to leave a message on their answerphone if they are out of the office.
Practice Staff are bound by the same confidentiality rules as Doctors. We comply fully with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
